Clinical consultation
I provide clinical consultation on all aspects of general adult cardiology. This includes management of symptoms such as chest pain, breathlessness, and palpitations. Clinical consultation is the most important aspect of patient care; to determine what is the most likely underlying diagnosis and decide the need for further investigations or treatment as necessary. Cardiovascular medicine is rapidly evolving, and full of jargons - our clinical ethos is to understand your clinical concerns and explain everything in an easy to understand manner to ultimately agree a management plan that works for you.
Electrocardiogram (ECG)
An ECG is one of the most basic investigations required in cardiology. It is a snapshot recording of the electrical activity of the heart.
Exercise treadmill test (ETT)
An ETT provide useful information on your ability to exercise and whether this puts any strain on your heart - it is a form of stress test that can guide a cardiologist as to the likelihood of underlying significant coronary disease. It is also used as part of the licensing requirement for DVLA lGroup 2 licence holders and other professions.
Echocardiogram
An echo is an ultrasound based scan of the heart. This gives a cardiologist useful information about the heart’s pumping function, and any significant structural abnormalities such as valvular issues.
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
Blood pressure can be labile and difficult to manage. We provide ambulatory BP monitoring to further help management of your hypertension.
