About me
I graduated from University of Manchester in 2010. As a junior doctor, I spent the first few years of my career working in the North West of England.
Cardiovascular medicine was always something that I had passion for, a testament perhaps to those cardiologists who made an impression on me in my early years as a doctor. It did not therefore come as a surprise that I moved up to Scotland in 2014 with my family to train in Cardiology. I spent 7 years training in the East of Scotland, subspecialising in coronary intervention and had the honour of working alongside many great colleagues.
As part of my training, I also studied for a higher research degree culminating in the award of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Dundee under the supervision of Dr Anna-Maria Choy and Professor Chim Lang. This period of my life taught me the value of clinical research and how it translates into clinical practice.
Following completion of training, I completed a 1-year complex coronary intervention fellowship at the renowned Bristol Heart Insitute under the tutelage of Dr Julian Strange.
My family and I enjoyed our time in Scotland and we decided to stay. I have been an NHS Consultant with NHS Highland since January 2023.
In my free time, I love enjoying precious quiet time with my family which often includes food, travelling, and explaining the intricacies of the Sicilian Defence to my chess-loving son.
We are also, unfortunately, suffering Manchester United fans.
